The truth of the matter is, when any meme becomes popular, people without popular memes find any reason to comment negatively on it if they can. You don't see the repost police on memes with low views or upvotes, because they didn't do good enough to cause jealousy.
Negative comment leavers can try to justify themselves any way they want. But everybody knows they are jealous and that they are better at being jerks than being funny. Because if they could be funny they would be making funny positive comments and memes everywhere and wouldn't have time to worry about memes they don't like. That's why we should ignore their negative comments like we ignore their crappy memes, because they aren't funny and that's why we are all here is to find something to laugh at and make others laugh in turn ;)

I feel you on this, I'm amazed sometimes though when two almost identical reposts, posted with a week or so of each other, make it to the top 3 or 4 pages and I wonder if people have a short term memory problems, you know? I've been here 1 1/2 years and see some reposts that I haven't seen in a while, which is why I like them! Everyone here must look at a few hundred memes a day, you certainly can't remember all the good ones, that why a repost can be really cool! But I also know it's possible that two people can repost the same thing without seeing the others meme! That's life on ImgFlip! :)

I think I just figured it out. Many of the posts/teposts are triggered by what's being passed around on Facebook that day. It's shared by a few folks whose friends share, whose friends share, etc. I began to suspect it when I did it myself, but knew for certain when an obscure quote a friend posted the other day appeared here as a different meme. Most are old jokes recycled. Heck, I have lists of them on my computer, if I ever draw a blank, but this quote was so obscure that to see two different versions in one day? And my fn friend shared his version a day before.

Take my three submissions today: two are old jokes, one is a variation of an ad campaign. All done in poor taste, and one, because of the wording, is NSFW. Not sure if mods put a hold on them, but two submitted 9 hours ago, the third, an hour or two ago. None featured. Go figure.

and yes, I *know* some things are going to be reposts, that's inevitable, but there are certain posts that are specific troll reposts, and the apologists flock to JUST those. We all know which ones they are and one just made the front page within the last few days, lets call it wtf it is and do something about it. This isn't some magic mystery. Call it what it is and get rid of it.

Sorry bro. I'm too busy killing it with memes. :) This is my point. I don't really care. Some of the reposts are better than the originals so I'm ok with that. :)

hehehe, yeah agree. there's lots that can be improved on. I'm talken specifically about a troll meme going around where people think they're super funny, clever, and new, reposting something they know's the damn 1000th repost in case "someone hasn't seen it" and 1-2 idiots always chime in with "lol I haven't seen it" or "lol that always gets me" and then the flood of apologists. and ... they know wtf they're doing, 2-3 per fking week. then they're always like "lul its just a joke" -_-

we all about improving where we can! that's what I'm trying to support, and I think that's where you're at too!
