I started with TNG, but I would also see TOS on certain channels and watch it. It seemed scarier than TNG which was cool.

I'm into Star Wars more obviously, but my thing with these franchises is usually the ships and vehicle designs. That's why Trek is so interesting for me. Like how they thought that up based on Submarines and Naval traditions. . :{

Cool. I've always liked 70's culture. The cars, clothes, designs in general. It sort of defined the last 40-50 years.

And yeah, Star Trek is a premium sci-fi franchise. They really try to explain how things work so that you don't really suspend disbelief, you accept that "in the future" it will be solved.

Plus the types of actors they chose and the evolution of morality they were presenting, it was just different from everything else. :{
