I'm atheist but I would never attack a religious meme. I guess intolerant people come in all shapes and sizes.

I disagreed with him. Then I made my point and my argument and during the discourse proved I was correct and proved that the Top users DO get special consideration and even got him to admit how he helps rig it by upvoting other popular peoples memes and everyone who comments on those memes thereby keeping that person on top longer then they deserve to be. You made some valid points in your last exchange I saw with him but you got nasty and started name-calling and throwing insults. I don't believe you are getting down-votes now for disagreeing with him, I think you are getting downvotes because of your demeanor. You insulted one of the "cool kids".

The site just isn't worth the time I invested and I now wish I had those hours in January back. You laid out a pretty good hypothesis of why I had this experience, because my submissions themselves were not the problem.

That's why I say there should be an imgflip president to control the community!

No, I didn't the first flame war....nor do I need to. I do agree with you on site manipulation by the top users. That was exactly my argument with Socrates. I was able to prove it though...to the point of getting him to admit that he (and others) upvote and comment on memes by other "Tops" just to keep them on top. Yes, it is a "bully" tactic when they all gang up on you but it's how you handle it. I suppose my points total may suffer for taking on one of the elite but I don't care. I am not a points w**re. That is not why I am here. Those on the leaderboard and on the top users list that need that..well, that's pretty sad to me. How pathetic are their lives that their claim to fame is to be a topper on imgflip? How sad it is that they have to resort to the tactics they do to stay there? I have a life..I come here to have fun and make memes. I totally agree with your view about how the site is skewed...the difference is I don't let it get to me. I just have another beer, have another debate if need be, and make more memes or comments. Just be you and if people don't like it...f**k em. So they downvote your meme? How does that effect your real world? It doesn't. It's THEIR world because they have no other life so they get protective when people like us show up. (Disclaimer...I am not saying ALL of the Top Users are like this but I think we, and others...including them, know who they are)

Okay.. I can relate in a way. I've been attacked on other sites because I am an Atheist Conservative. The left hates me for being conservative and the right hates me because I don't believe in their myth. I understand the feeling of wanting to lash out. I have done it once or twice. But in the end I have found that staying rational and on point and illustrating the point with facts and evidence is far more effective. I have always said, If you want to prove a liberal is an idiot, debate them and let them talk. I use the same tact with Christians...I will quote from their Bible and let them defend their God's murderous ways. I did the same here recently with Socrates. I let him talk. HE revealed how he comments and upvotes other tops. Don't take the attacks personally..engage. Civilly. Let them expose themselves. When you get nasty you give the impartial observer a reason to not like you. "Oh, he had no argument so he called him a dick" Well yeah, he may be a dick but they won't see it just because you called him that. They will see you as a name caller. They will see it if you let them talk and prove they are a dick. I've had several beers since this convo started and I need to work tomorrow so I am going to sign off but I will say I know where you are coming from and my advice to you is the same from the classic line in Animal House.."My advice to you is to drink heavily" (Don't know how relevant this is to you because I have no idea how old you are or you have seen the movie) But... I remember I got into a debate about God on here a while back. Must have been 10 different Atheists attacking me on that post.

I actually like Socrates though we have just had a little verbal sparring match. I made my point, illustrated it, then defended it. he didn't much to say after that. The problem with Chakotay is in the last battle he had with Socrates he resorted to getting vulgar and name-calling. That is not how you win a debate...unless you're a Clinton and have the whole mass media behind you. I pointed out how the Top page was rigged for bias for the popular ones and through civil discourse even got him to admit he helps rig it !
