It blows my mind how ignorant many Americans are of their own laws. Businesses in the US haven't had the "right to refuse service to whomever they wanted" since 1964 when the Civil Rights Act was passed.

Actually, it depends on what state you live in. Some states are far more strict. And also, private businesses do have the right to refuse service to anyone they feel is breaking their rules or the law. Also, if the individual is asking for services that go against the owner's religious beliefs, they have the right to refuse service. The problem is the federal government violating the individual's rights

Gun shops have the right to refuse to sell a firearm to whoever they please.

Alcohol sales can be refused to basically anyone. The Civil rights act does allow for refusal of services, just not on the basis of the customers: race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. That would mean the gays and trannys aren't protected by the civil rights act any more than a drunk at a bar or a felon at a gun shop. You have to read the law. Voting rights cannot be restricted due to race, color, sex, age above 18,or previous condition of servitude due to three separate Constitutional amendments, but they sure as hell can be restricted for failure to ID. Progs just don't read too good.

The reason behind it is the fact that blacks are more likely to be shot by police than whites. If a scale is unbalanced you have to add more weight to one side. Not both. The stats on police shootings show that white lives already matter to them. They just need to be reminded that black lives matter just as much. And I don't hashtag. I hashbrown.

The black cop killer stuff was sarcasm. My intention was to show that the BLM movement has merit even though many call it racist for only advocating for justice on behalf of the black community.
