How to get up votes

Ha ha, to see if mine could be popular? I have little hope for that, I console myself that I make them for my own enjoyment anyway :)

I'm not 100% sure if that "early in the day" thing always works. My reason is that when a meme is submitted, it only stays near the top of the 'Latest' section for an hour until a whole new batch of memes comes in on top. If a meme doesn't get enough views and votes in that first hour on to get a decent position in the 'Hot' section (i.e. a position that people are likely to scroll to), the likelihood is that the meme will just disappear from sight, and go mostly unnoticed.

For that reason, I think a better idea is to find the times of peak site traffic, and try to submit memes so that they release during those times. I'm not completely sure though.

Upvotes usually occur in proportion to the number of views. About 30 to 1 on average.

But in all seriousness, the more you comment on other's memes on the front page, the more successful and "popular" you'll be on the site. Other users will start knowing who you are and will seek out your memes. I have a handful of "followers," but I wouldn't have if I never comment on anything.

Lel (and variations including lal) resulted from the use of random vowels substituted in place of the 'o' in LOL. These vowels were used in an attempt to be different from the millions of internet game f*gs. The word however, in essence, still means LOL.
