tbf, the argument has been more the opposite, that whether genitalia is affected by a congenital condition or altered by surgery, gender is still ultimately determined by XX or XY.

Despite the failed test last year, Khelif was still permitted to compete in Paris by the International Olympic Committee. It’s uncertain if the IOC tested Khelif under similar benchmarks.

If the IOC allows "women" with XY chromones and testosterone compete against normal women now.. what is stopping them from allowing straight up men pretending to be women, Like Lia Thomas, to start abusing that rule in the future? Sports should be sepreate and equal between genders. The genders are a clear cut line of rule that can be easliy followed as long as we don't bend knee to lunatics.

They have their guidelines: have to have gender affirming surgery before you turn 12. Not to mention being on HRT two years before that surgery and all between post surgery and sports performance.

That’s the point of the rule, so trans people can’t compete at all.

To clarify on my previous comment on this one, the thing is no one does those kinds of surgeries on children that young, so competition for trans athletes becomes impossible. Kind of like how many states passed a bill requiring literacy tests to vote after the 15th amendment was ratified while schools refused to accept black students

I know ambulatory surgerys have been done on kids that young, including breast inplants and removal. Ambulatory surgery is not reported as surgery. So, people are doing them. Maybe they have been competing this whole time and we never knew it?
