Oh, you support Clarence Thomas? You want states to be able to make contraceptives, same-sex marriage and gay sex illegal?
2 ups, 2y
And this will happen how? You can still get an abortion in New York, Colorado, California, Virginia, Connecticut... do I need to go on? This ruling frees the states to set abortion laes as they see fit. Don't like your state's abortion laws? You are still free to move anywhere you want. Of course that isn't going to last.

And if the people decide to outlaw interracial marriage, like numerous conservative states had before 1967? Then what?

Uh, check back in the history books, it was deep south Democrat states.

Sounds like TriggeringConservatives got triggered.

When a conservative says, "I don't want to pay for your contraceptives" leftist cry, "stop trying to ban contraceptives".

When a conservative says, "The Supreme Court does not have the authority to make law" leftists cry, "You want to ban same sex marriage."

When a conservative says, "I don't care what you do in the privacy of your home" leftists cry, "stop trying to ban gay sex".

Your fears are unfounded. No one is banning contraceptives or gay sex. Gay marriage, just like abortion, is a state's rights issue. The Courts had absolute no right to make it a law because they are not legislators.

And if you guys weren't so opposed to freedom then you would be for taking marriage completely out of the government and just letting churches perform them because it is a religious ceremony.

That way gays can go to churches, who perform gay marriage, to get married. Instead you would rather the government force the issue even if it means doing it unconstitutionally. Just like when wedding cake bakers refuse to make a cake for a gay marriage, instead of the gay couple going to another baker, they made the government force the baker to make a cake for them.

Leftists are toxic narcissists.

This is a clear case of you not thinking things through. In all of those rulings the court CREATED LAW that overwrote anything the people should decide. That is a violation of the spirit and letter of the Constitution.

If you hate freedom so much and like tyranny better then you can easily find a dictatorship somewhere in the world where all your wildest dreams can come true.

What will happen if each of those cases are overturned? Do you seriously think that any state is going to make contraceptives illegal? And gay sex, how on earth would they ever enforce that law assuming that any state would ban gay sex. They would have to violate the 4th amendment to prosecute a gay couple having sex. The only why they could stop gays from having sex is if the couple was having sex in a public place and they would stop heterosexual couples from doing that as well.

Gay marriage as well as any other marriage should not be the right of the government to perform. The government should stop performing any marriage. It is a religious ceremony and it should only be performed by churches. And, yes, there a lot of churches who would perform gay marriages. There are even gay churches.

But you want all of your policies forced on us by a tyrannical government. You don't want conservatives to have any say in any law making. We're insignificant to your superiority.

You keep saying I want tyranny, but I’m telling you it is a stupid idea to allow the tyranny of 50 state governments to prosecute people for having gay sex or using contraception. Idaho is already moving to ban contraceptives. A senate candidate in Arizona called for the same.

The reason Lawrence v. Texas was ever decided at all was because police intruded into a gay couples’ home while they were engaging in sodomy then charged them under the state’s anti-sodomy law.

Marriage existed before religion. It does not belong to the church. You’re totally fine with gay couples being denied benefits and rights that straight couples do if you say the government should not allow gay marriage everywhere.

How is law created in the states? It is created the same way as it is at the federal level. State legislators, selected by the people to represent them, create laws. If the people of a state want to ban gay sex, they can pass all the laws in the world to stop it but they have absolute no right whatsoever to enter someone's home without probable cause and as search warrant. And that just ain't gonna happen. No one, in this day and age, is going to arrest, prosecute or sentence anyone for having gay sex.

The same with contraception. Once again they would have to have probable cause and a search warrant to enter a home and arrest someone using a condom or taking birth control pills. Now they might make it illegal to purchase contraceptives and unless they set up check points at the border of each state, there is no way they can stop contraceptives from being brought into that state.

In both cases it would be an utter waste of time to even think about making law prohibiting gay sex or contraception.

The only reason why the police entered Lawrence's home is because his ex-boyfriend called the police and said there was a man with a gun in the apartment. Had he not said anything about the gun the police could not have broken into his apartment. Why they chose to prosecute using an anti-sodomy law is beyond me. Perhaps Lawrence was being belligerent, I don't know. But that law had to be one of those forgotten laws from decades ago. Still that is bizarre that this would happen in the 21st century.

I can guarantee that no cop is going to enter someone's home ONLY because they are having gay sex. It's just not going to happen and I think most state legislators realize this, or they should. Any anti-sodomy is unenforceable. Just like any anti-fornication laws.

Religion has been with mankind from the beginning. Marriage came out of religion. It is a contract between a man, woman and God.

How would a gay couple be denied anything if marriages were performed only by churches? Why do you insist that the government be involved in everything?

"State legislators, selected by the people to represent them, create laws"

And if a law is determined to be unconstitutional it gets struck down

"If the people of a state want to ban gay sex, they can pass all the laws in the world to stop it but they have absolute no right whatsoever to enter someone's home without probable cause and as search warrant"

I guess you never googled Bowers v Hardwick

"No one, in this day and age, is going to arrest, prosecute or sentence anyone for having gay sex"

Then there's no need to outlaw it to begin with

"Once again they would have to have probable cause and a search warrant to enter a home and arrest someone using a condom or taking birth control pills"

Unless they outlaw mere possession, which they probably would try to do

"Why they chose to prosecute using an anti-sodomy law is beyond me"

Because they could

"Still that is bizarre that this would happen in the 21st century"

Like golden tablets bizarre? Or magic planet with celestial wives bizarre?

"Any anti-sodomy is unenforceable"

It's clearly not, otherwise Lawrence v Texas never would've been a court case to begin with. You also seem to think that somebody could only be charged with violating the law if they're caught in the act at that very moment. Do you think somebody can only be charged with murder or theft if they're caught in the act at the very moment they committed the crime?

"(Marriage) is a contract between a man, woman and God"

No, it's not. At least not exclusively.

"In all of those rulings the court CREATED LAW"

No they didn't

"Do you seriously think that any state is going to make contraceptives illegal?"

Yes. Do you not realize that many states used to have contraceptives outlawed? In some states it was even illegal to publish information about birth control. You don't seem to understand very much about history.

"And gay sex, how on earth would they ever enforce that law assuming that any state would ban gay sex"

Google "Bowers v Hardwick". Also, you say that as if no state has ever outlawed consensual same sex activity. Many states had done exactly that, which is why Lawrence v Texas made its way to the Supreme Court in the first place.

"The only why they could stop gays from having sex is if the couple was having sex in a public place and they would stop heterosexual couples from doing that as well."

See above

"Gay marriage as well as any other marriage should not be the right of the government to perform"

Yes it should, precisely so that people like you couldn't deny marriage licenses to adults who are entitled to them.

"The government should stop performing any marriage"

No it shouldn't.

"It is a religious ceremony and it should only be performed by churches"

It's not inherently a religious ceremony. And what about mosques or synagogues? Don't they count?

"But you want all of your policies forced on us by a tyrannical government"

No one is forcing same sex marriage or same sex activity on you or anyone else.

If he reads his comments long enough you'll see that almost everything he says about liberals is completely unrealistic and hyperbolic. He's not able to debate using actual facts and reason and logic.

"When a conservative says, "I don't want to pay for your contraceptives" leftist cry, "stop trying to ban contraceptives"."

No, they don't say that

"When a conservative says, "The Supreme Court does not have the authority to make law" leftists cry, "You want to ban same sex marriage." "

No, when conservative talk about wanting to overturn Obergefell, liberals say they shouldn't do that

"When a conservative says, "I don't care what you do in the privacy of your home" leftists cry, "stop trying to ban gay sex"."

No, when conservatives talk about wanting to overturn Lawrence v Texas, liberals say they shouldn't do that. Many conservatives don't exactly have a track record of saying they don't care what people do in the privacy of their own home, otherwise it never would have been illegal in the first place.

"Your fears are unfounded"

They are absolutely founded because conservatives are openly talking about wanting to do these things

"No one is banning contraceptives or gay sex"

They're trying to

"Gay marriage, just like abortion, is a state's rights issue"

Then overturn Loving v Virginia as well, which you probably want to

"And if you guys weren't so opposed to freedom"

We aren't

"then you would be for taking marriage completely out of the government and just letting churches perform them because it is a religious ceremony"

Except it's not a religious ceremony

"That way gays can go to churches, who perform gay marriage, to get married"

And if churches won't do it, then they can't get married (which is your goal)

"Instead you would rather the government force the issue"

No, it's already a government issue

"Just like when wedding cake bakers refuse to make a cake for a gay marriage, instead of the gay couple going to another baker, they made the government force the baker to make a cake for them"

And like when those "uppity black people" were refused service, instead of just sucking it up and accepting that they were second-class citizens, they had the nerve to try to do something about it through legislation

"Leftists are toxic narcissists"

No they aren't
