How can this whole downvote thing be worth spending so much energy on? Is your entire self worth so completely wrapped up in your imgflip status that you can't just suck it up and move on if someone downvotes you? Not everyone wants to hold your hand and tell you that you're special all the time, that's life.

As far as I'm concerned, it's just another theme weekend to me...I don't really care if they get rid of them or not...You and I both know they're not gonna do it so who cares...

Well that makes more sense, I figured it couldn't possibly matter to you that much. But it seems like there are so many users that are so worked up and on board for this that it is crazy. Personally, I'd be all for the downvote counter coming back ! But, I don't think the downvote should affect anything other than your Memes ranking on the site. Down votes should not be able to take away your commenting, or send your meme back to submitted status.

I wouldn't mind the like/dislike bar coming back, but only if the user can see it on their own meme, that way you could still see how many upvotes or downvotes you're getting but others can't use it to bandwagon vote.
