... without a good grip on it. He or she (hard to tell) appeared to have a good grip at first, but when the gun went off, flinched and instinctively wanted to drop it.

Good grip yes, but you need to keep your elbows flexible. His or hers (agreed, hard to tell) are too tense so the gun snapped out of the tight grip.

I mean, if you're gonna buy a pistol that can take down a T-Rex why wouldn't you?

Makes me wonder if that's not a small-caliber firearm like a .44 magnum or a .45 long colt.
