IS YOGA OK? If yoga is only meant to help people relax, why in the world would I warn so much against it, as well as other practices like meditation, breathing exercises, and prophetic prayer? It’s because the origins of those behaviors are in the eastern religions and occultism; methods used to get people into an "altered state of consciousness."; Whether a person means to or not, when practicing those spiritual-communication techniques with his or her mind and body, spirits (that are not from God) tend to pop on the scene. These Hindu and Buddhist occult exercises are even being promoted in the Christian Church today. But no matter how the methods and verbiage are repackaged, unfortunately these types of occult techniques often have the same result, which is connecting with what the Bible calls
“familiar spirits.” You and I know them as DEMONS. | image tagged in yoga, meditation, breathing, prayer, demon, spirit | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

IS MEDITATION OKAY? [2 of 4] The Hindu technique of mediation is something Jesus warned us about. He told us not to pray like the pagans, who babble on and on. The Greek root is almost a direct translation from "barbar," referring to the barbarians who lived in foreign lands. The Greeks called them barbarians because when the Greeks heard them speak, it just sounded like, "brah, brah, brah, brah, brah, brah, brah…”; So, Jesus is telling us not to be like the pagans, who sound like barbarians when they pray to their idols. And that is precisely what mantras during meditation are; just repetitious babbling. Jesus said not to do it because it’s not the same as biblical prayer. When we Christians pray, obviously it is not focusing our mind on repetition of meaningless words or phrases. We pray directly to God, speaking to Him using our mind and intelligible words to have a conversation; telling Him how much we love Him and asking for help. | image tagged in meditation, hindu, prayer, bible, god, pagan | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

IS MEDITATION OKAY?
[1 of 4] "The similarities between the practice of transcendental meditation and the practice of religious Hindu prayer rituals cannot be denied. The basic posture for transcendental meditation is sitting for 15-20 minutes, with the eyes closed, and repeating a mantra or a simple sound TO CLEAR THE MIND of thought.”; Very different from that goal of mediation, TO EMPTY THE MIND, Christian prayer seeks to pray to God WITH OUR MIND, including petitions, where we're asking God to help others, or for help with certain aspects of our lives, as well as thanking and praising Him—we have an actual conversation with Him. Opposite of that is meditation, where those practicing this Hindu religious ritual repeat mantras, (certain words or phrases), over and over and over and over and over, UNTIL THEIR MINDS EMPTY; with the goal of contacting spirits, which are not the Spirit of God. | image tagged in meditation, prayer, hindu, bible, god, spirits | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

WHAT IS A KING JAMES PRAYER?
First, prayer is an actual conversation in a personal relationship with God, and certainly not like Hindu meditation & mantras with their mindless repetition (babble) of words or phrases, hoping to get into an altered state of consciousness. Jesus clearly warns us not to babble on and the Bible says, "Ask and you will receive." So, it involves an intelligent conversation and in no way includes emptying our minds in some esoteric, mystical, & meditative experience. Prayer is a personal relationship with God; not a clearing of the mind to allow for communing with demon spirits. And as far as the way we should talk with God in prayer, I've demonstrated it to my congregation by showing them how I do NOT talk my wife. I don't use some biblical King-James-Version-type lingo like, "Oh, Brandie, thou art thee that I loveth as thou goest in thy wondrousness."; That's just playing goofy games with conversation & it's the same way with God. It is not some rehearsed speech. I don't have to work at what I'm going to say to my wife each day by reading, and maybe even memorizing, material that I later explain to her through some exact step-by-step formula for supposedly more effective communication. It’s the same with true biblical prayer to God, which should be from the heart. But people desiring religiosity, like to throw in mystical lingo. | image tagged in prayer, bible, god, relationship, christian, jesus | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
