[6 of 6] Word of Faith preachers on television promise perfect health, which is the same false hope from Hindu gurus. In fact, it’s why Hindu gurus won't help people starving to death on the side of the road; even though the guru may be driving by in an ultra-rich vehicle, just like wealthy Word of Faith preachers who brag about owning a Rolls Royce or other expensive cars? The Hindu guru drives by, ignoring the
indigent, because he claims those people are
in that situation from their own karma;
they must have committed some sin in
a past life that they're keeping secret. And
supposedly that's why they deserve this
suffering in the ditch, often until dead.
Even that evil is built into these false
teachings from the Word of Faith movement.

Christians taken advantage of. Whether it’s Hindu gurus or
their counterparts, American
Word of Faith teachers,
the only difference is that
the latter just sprinkle Christianese
on the Hindu sales pitch.
Folks want to believe the man (or woman)
on television is going to help them
get out of their struggles,
(as he claims he will). Instead, just like the gurus in India, these guys are grabbing

Day after day, they get on television, claiming we can have a perfect life full of riches beyond our most ambitious dreams, just as the gurus in India promise Hindus. Both the Word of Faith people and Hindu gurus also promise perfect health. Still, the Church today is silent about these people in our midst. And what is the result? Second Peter tells us it brings the truth of Christianity into shameful disrepute. We must call a spade a spade! Peter speaks to us, the future Christian Church: "In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they made up. [3 of 4] Opposite of Christian prayer, Hindu meditation is inwardly focused on one's own spirit, claiming it will gain self-awareness for those practicing it. What does the Bible say about that? Are we supposed to focus on ourselves? No! Romans 8:5-6, tells us to deny ourselves because focusing on the flesh only leads to death, while using our minds to pray to God in a conversation, leads to life and peace. So, meditation is nothing at all like biblical prayer. "Those who practice transcendental meditation are setting their minds on their own spirit, looking within themselves in order to transcend themselves, rather than on the Spirit of God. Searching one's own mind—or emptying one's mind of all thought—may result in numbness or a temporary escape from reality, but...cannot bring true [and lasting] peace.” What meditation will do is get you into an altered state of consciousness, (literally, a hypnotic state), making you highly suggestible to spiritual realms that you do not want to mess with. [And then someone tells them,] 'But that's not true and [the other] is not true. Doesn't that make you a bit suspicious?’ The only permanent solution is the authority of the Creator. Then there's this important fact about the rock solid credibility of the Bible: Scripture was written over a period of 1500 years, through 40 generations, by 40 authors from every walk of life, including kings, peasants, philosophers, fisherman, poets, statesmen, etc. Before getting saved, I used to say the Bible was whipped up by men. But even on his best day, man could never put together something like the Bible. The writers didn't even know each other so how can critics claim they conspired? The diverse authors to the Bible were from all over the spectrum: Moses, was a political leader; Peter, a Fisherman; Amos, a herdsman; Joshua, a military general; Nehemiah, a cup bearer; Daniel, a prime minister; Luke, a doctor; Solomon, a King; Matthew, a tax collector; and Paul was a rabbi. Scripture was written in all kind of places: the wilderness, a dungeon, on a hillside, in a palace and a prison, while traveling, on the Island of Patmos by John, and during military campaigns. The last one of course was at a time of war but the Bible was also put down on paper in times of peace. So there were many different moods of the authors, from the heights of joy to the depths of despair and sorrow. On top of all that, Scripture was written on three continents (Asia, Africa and Europe) in three languages (Hebrew, Koine Greek, and a small part, Aramaic). With those aspects of the Bible in mind, here are the mind-blowers: Never once does the Bible contradict itself and it gives the same message throughout the Old and New Testament. Christians can fully bank on the Bible, knowing it's exactly what God laid out for us as the only way that contains all truth, as well as the correct history and future. Contrary to that solid foundation for life, involving a relationship with Jesus, religions and cults just prescribe rituals, donations, worship of different entities, mantras, sacrifices, and other works of that nature. But those don't reveal ultimate knowledge because only the Bible can do that. Of course the Bible has skeptics so let’s look at the evidence: Skeptics say we can’t trust that it was Moses, around 1445 B.C., who wrote about the Garden of Eden in Genesis. However, with all due respect, that's the importance of genealogies. With the Bible, we can look at the lives of just three men in Genesis 10, who together cover the first 2157 years of mankind. How could that time period be so long? Of course it's because man had a longer life span at the beginning and that's not just some spiritualization of the Genesis text. We even know it’s scientifically possible, as we dealt with in detail through our study, "In the Days of Noah," as part of our "Creation Series." So, the history being repeated in the Bible is from only three guys, who knew each other for a long, long time. It wasn't just some weekend conference where
