Gerald Bergman, PHD, wrote about the time Mark Twain encountered a Christian Science practitioner—and set her straight: “On a vacation Twain fell off a cliff in Austria and ‘broke some arms and legs and one thing or another.’ After being rescued by local peasants, he searched in vain for a doctor. Finally, a Christian Science practitioner was located who was vacationing in the village. Unable to come immediately she sent Twain the message to relax because there was nothing wrong with him, and his feelings of pain were ‘imagined,’ therefore he needed no treatment.
The practitioner, a large middle-aged woman with an austere face,
later came to help Twain deal with his imagined broken bones. When trying to convince Mr. Twain that the pain he was then experiencing didn’t exist, she accidentally raked her hand on a pin in her dress, said “ouch” in pain, then tranquilly went on trying to convince Mr. Twain that pain doesn’t exist. Needless to say, she failed to convince Mr. Twain that his bones did not hurt and there was no such thing as pain. Fortunately, Mr. Twain survived, no doubt because he found someone who was concerned with setting bones instead of selling a dangerous pseudoscientific religious philosophy. Mr. Twain’s
book is written to bring many chuckles, but the religion it discusses

JESUS CHRIST IS THE PROMISED MESSIAH THEY HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR? [3 of 3] Imagine what would happen in our time if Jesus came along to challenge the powerful politicians running the world. How would they handle Him bringing up all their corruption and outright evil? Would they embrace Him? Most likely, no. They would try to save face, and preserve their ill-gotten wealth, which means they would council their nations to distrust Jesus Christ (actually, they already do). In fact, they would probably claim Christ is an intolerant liar who incites violence, hoping that would lead to the people somehow eliminating Him. It was no different two centuries ago when the rabbi’s were concerned about losing their authority to Jesus, and facing serious retribution from the people they had been ruthlessly controlling through thousands of rabbinic laws. Back then, the power was in the hands of religious leaders
(the rabbi’s) who decided to crucify Jesus. And it would probably be the same
reaction among our powerful politicians today. Those who had Jesus eliminated
centuries ago didn't like the fact that He was jeopardizing the money, position, appreciation, and authority that the Jewish people had given the corrupt leaders. So, regardless of over three hundred Old Testament prophecies that Jesus was fulfilling, as well as all the miracles He performed to prove He is God, the Jewish leaders decided to turn the people against Christ, having Him killed so they could retain all they had. And two thousand years later in modern Judaism, the Jewish leadership is still pushing Jesus aside: They won’t even entertain the question of whether Jesus is the Messiah, which makes rabbinic writings extremely biased against Jesus, and they won’t allow Jews to decide about Christ for themselves—rabbi’s spread the assumption that “no good Jew” should even read the New Testament. So, their current policy on Jesus Christ allows no exploration of the truth, just the blind leading the blind.
Still today, Judaism’s leaders don’t want anyone to learn about Jesus, and this
follows two thousand years of Jewish rabbi’s covering up the truth about the
most famous Jew in the history of mankind. Throughout the centuries and
even up to today, Jesus has been the most recognizable name ever, and He
is written about in history’s most read book. Yet, Christ remains Judaism’s

Our human nature loves power and control, while we also want to feel special, important, and valuable. Knowing this, we should not be surprised when the Bible tells us humans had a similar mindset two thousand years ago, during a time of widespread religious hypocrisy and corruption—like today. So, the love and pursuit of power and control—mixed with religion—was also pervasive way back then. With all this in mind, is it possible that those rabbi’s accused Jesus and His followers of idol worship because they feared Christ’s ministry would cause them to lose power and status? Historical researchers located about twenty ancient sources, including the Dead Sea Scrolls, Josephus, and rabbinic writings that detail how absolutely corrupt Israel’s religious leaders were during that time of the Second Temple. They wanted Jesus dead, even though He let them know He hadn’t come to abolish God’s laws; He said He came to fulfill them. [2 of 2] Besides Jesus professing that “the Lord our God is one,” and Genesis using the plural-word “Elohim” for God, we have many ways to explain how the Trinity can be both three and one. For example, I’m a husband, father, and pastor—no wonder I'm tired—but which one is not me? Being made in God’s image, you and I have a spirit, soul, and body, but which is not us? We can also mathematically represent the truth of Trinity:; Jewish people believe the New Testament’s depiction of the Trinity means the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit must be represented as 1 + 1 + 1 = 3, but the Bible tells us it is 1 x 1 x 1 = 1. So, even with the mathematics of God, three can be one. Yes, God presents himself as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, but He is still one guy, one Elohim saying, “Let us make man in our image.” Then there is the classic example: When water is left alone, it presents as a liquid, but when frozen water becomes a solid, and when heated

ENTRANCE INTO HEAVEN FOR “RELATIVELY GOOD” SINNERS? As a pastor who travels frequently throughout America and also to many nations around the world, (for conferences, interviews, and other public speaking), I talk with a diverse population. One common, misinformed, and alarming misconception is presented to me by people everywhere, and it is because they do not investigate this monumentally important claim that has them clinging to a completely false hope: Men and women all around the planet rely on their ticket to a pleasant eternity being their status a “relatively good person,” or “fairly good person." But that doesn't make you a Christian. Contrary to
that tragic delusion, Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father [God in heaven] except through Me.” We have all broken God's law, whether it's lying, stealing, lusting, practicing idolatry by loving things or people more than God, breaking other commandments, or all of the above. Just one of those sins against our Creator is the constant self-focused idol worship of our modern society. According to God’s Word in the Bible, anything can become our idol, including money, possessions, television, other entertainment, a hobby, another person, or even
ourselves. When we get preoccupied with something to point where
that obsession is more important than our relationship with God,

What did Christ say about people who force followers to perform manmade tasks as the supposed ticket to heaven? He called the Pharisees what they were: fools and hypocrites. Here is Jesus addressing the Pharisees in Matthew 23:15 and 27:"Woe to you, blind guides! You go over
land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one,
you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are…; You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside, but on the inside are full of dead men’s bones and every kind of impurity.” The Pharisee’s rules where false teachings, useless burdens put on people. Completely contrary to what the Pharisees prescribed, Jesus had the people follow Him, promising this at the end of Matthew 11: "Come to Me…you will find rest for your souls. My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” But even today, because people refuse to accept Christ’s free gift of salvation, those caught in false religions like Jainism continue to suffer under Pharisee-type rules, not to mention risking an eternity away from God, ending

[1 of 2] “Jain” simply means “conqueror,” and “ism” is a “doctrine, cause, or theory,” so a Jainist is a “conqueror from the bondage of this world.” That foundational belief of Jainism sounds like the Hindu idea that we all must escape the bonds of reincarnation, life’s supposed cycle of continuous birth and death which is caused by our bad karma built up in previous lives. The Pharisees came up with crazy decrees, like not spitting at the ground on the Sabbath. Why in the world would that matter? Well, having the right trajectory, your spit might hit the dirt with a strong enough force to roll through the dust; thus, you would be plowing a tiny trough—how dare you work on the Sabbath.
