![PRINCESS REBECCA [Part 1] Years ago, when we lived on the East Coast, my daughter Rebecca inspired what I think would be an excellent children's book. Like all little girls, she had been reading and watching stories involving knights, princesses, kingdoms, realms, quests, enchanted forests, and all other aspects of mythical, chivalrous lands. She was deeply enamored with the idea of somehow, one day, becoming the princess to a handsome, honorable prince who arrives unexpectedly and ends up being devoted to her only—she’s probably still looking for that. Hearing her passion, God worked on my heart to steer her thinking back toward Him and His Word. How would the Bible best be explained to a little girl enthralled with the idea that Prince Charming would come sweep her up and carry her off to his beautiful castle, where they would marry and live
out the rest of their lives in luxury and happiness. Unfortunately
for Rebecca, she also lived with a common disappointment
that most fairytale-consuming young girls come to realize:; Her parents do not have royal blood, so she is disqualified from nobility. But then, one day, God had to finally smack my head with a thought that should have come to me sooner: Wait a second, that fairytale is the true story of Scripture. We are nobles! At the moment we trust in Jesus’ sacrifice of Himself on the cross, we Christians become born-again and are instantly princes and princesses! As a family of Christians, that means Rebecca’s mother and I have royal blood, and our daughter also received her princess title at the moment she accepted Jesus—the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Christ comes from the most lofty, powerful, borderless kingdom above all kingdoms. In fact, He created and owns everything! Even though God could have scrapped His human project, having no need of us rebellious children who often grieve Him, God
decided to send His only Son—the Prince who volunteered—to

offers make-believe stories of unattainable lives in non-existent
lands. But with Jesus, you truly are Princess Rebecca!”; I think these nobility stories are constantly inspired into so much of mankind because we inwardly know this earthly life goes by in flash, and we immortals have an eternity coming—that is meant to be spent in God’s kingdom. Whether we acknowledge His sovereignty or not, He has put it on our hearts. However, this regal future can be squandered by those too self-absorbed to want a relationship with their Creator—the same issue Satan had that led to the devil’s creation of sin, the first sins. But our glorious, princely position is real and every Christian has it—right now! The next stop is Jesus coming to get us, escorting His people to His heavenly kingdom where we will spend years at a massive victory celebration with God, after which we fellow princes and princesses
will ride back to earth with Jesus, where we will rule and reign with
Him in His Millennial Kingdom. After those thousand years spent
watching over the earth with God, He will create new heavens
and a new earth—a new, sinless creation! So, that’s who we

![DO OUR EFFORTS PRODUCE SALVATION OR ARE THEY EVIDENCE OF IT? [1 of 2] Warning, God’s graphic language: Our efforts (works) do not produce salvation; instead, they are evidence of it. Let me illustrate that idea with the original Hebrew definition, but I will warn you that God is being graphic here about how our works, to try achieving salvation for ourselves, greatly offend His holiness. The Hebrew term “filthy rags” is quite strong. The word “filthy” is a translation of the Hebrew word “iddah,” which literally means “the bodily fluids from a woman's menstrual cycle.” And we know what rags are, so this description of bloody rags refers to every cult and religion that prescribes works to make it to heaven, which includes every faith outside biblical Christianity—yes, every single one—because
they all claim their followers have to earn there way to that faith’s
good afterlife. This often includes volunteer work done for the organization, like recruiting new members, as well as donating a lot of money over many years. These false faiths teach things like getting to heaven by going to the weekend services, refraining from pork, or worshipping on Saturday. They claim those personal efforts will get you salvation through your own efforts, but God sees those organization’s prescribed works for what they are: each of those ill-advised efforts—to add to or circumvent salvation through Jesus alone—is like you tossing another filthy menstrual rags in front of God's holy throne. Advocating works to get yourself to heaven is like throwing a bloody rag in front of a holy, holy, holy God. And
it's not me saying that, God said it. Why is God giving us such a graphic
picture? "These 'righteous acts' are considered by God as repugnant
as a soiled feminine hygiene product." God is saying—Excuse me?!—my
son's blood was shed for you, yet you have the audacity to claim
