percent of whites killed by whites: 83.4%
percent of blacks killed by whites: 7.5%
percent of whites killed by blacks: 13.6%

A More interesting statistic would be to account for homicides according to imcome and assets of perpetrators and victims.

I have done many reports on crime, these statistics are true, yet my sociology teacher insists that that the majority of all inner city homicides are white on black.

No denying that violence is an issue here, but the fact is that it is not a case of black lives being taken by racially motivated white murderers.

Totally true, the majority of white murders are at the hands of whites. That is the point, it benefits no one to pretend that violence in this country has anything to do with one race being pitted against another. All murders are tragic.

If you're statistics are correct, I have no reason to doubt them or yourself, what do you think they represent. Statistics without analysis or interpretation are a very blunt instrument. I would also like to add that the clarion call "black lives matter" is not about the perpetrators of violence against people of colour but how the law enforcement agencies and judiciary react to such crimes. TBH I have to try hard not to lose my temper and sense of perspective at the collective denial and/or ignorance of basic social science that is exhibited when this and similar topics are discussed in popular media. Before you try and vent your spleen and start dissing me read my comment carefully. Firstly I am not taking sides in this argument. Secondly it would be refreshing to have a balanced discussion about a basic schism in societies world wide.

Well thats true, but white and black murders still happen plenty. And why are blacks often pushed to the ghetto and have had harder lives from the start? Isnt that what causes violence usually?
