It's not all about taxes, at least not in Colorado. Colorado is the only state in the lower 48 that a river does not flow INTO it from another state. All of our water flows out of state. Therefore, other states have a "claim" on it and dictate how we use it to some extent. I agree with your meme, though, and think it's BS that I can't use the water from my roof to water my lawn. It will go back into the aquifer eventually and then where ever it would have gone to anyhow.

I have a ton of relatives in California. They literally get letters from the city if they use too much water and get fined. They have to catch the water from their showers in a bucket but can't catch rain water!! Plus are only allowed to flush their toilets twice a day!!

I hear ya, some of them actually buy water to poor in the back of the tank so they can flush more. I hated it when I was 16 and moved to the Ozarks, but I love having our own well along with many other self sustaining ways we choose to live by now.

That's the way to go, for sure. I was so glad to move out of Cali, and that was back in 2001. Too bad Colorado has a lot of California transplants! (OK, just rereading that, and I know that it sounds hypocritical, but I was in the Marine Corps at the time, they told me where to go. I just chose to stay in Colorado after I retired.)

There are a lot of transplants everywhere bro, luckily we live out in the woods so nobody no matter who they are bother us. At least Colorado has open minded people already.
