HOW TO: Post a GIF or existing meme in the comment section (instructions in comment section below)

When you have a meme that you want to share in the comment section:
1) go to the meme you are wanting to share
2) look to the right (under your tags) for "embeded codes".
3) Choose BBCode (forums)
4) Right click on the highlighted area to copy info
5) Go to the meme you are wanting to comment on
6) Paste the code in the comment box.
7) Remove everything from [img] and before so that it starts with http
8) Remove everything from [img] and after so that it ends with .jpg
9) Post it by clicking on "text comment"
That will post a clickable link in the comment box that will open the meme IN the comment box. So the link will look like this ... (with no spaces though)
https ://i.imgflip.com/vhv5c. jpg
If you do it right it will look like this (you will have to refresh the page to see it after you do it though)

You can do the same thing with GIFs so that the Gif is clickable in the comment box ....

It seems that imgflip has now changed how you access the Embed codes. Now you click the "Share" button under the meme (near the tags) in order to get them.

Um, I couldn't find "embedded codes" from step2. I do everything from my phone and I don't have a real computer. Does that matter?

Actually, I'm not sure. On the computer the button for embeded codes is in the same box as the tags and who created the meme. If you click on the button it opens a menu box with several options. Do you see it?

Nope. I think it is different because I'm on a phone. Oh well, I'm just gonna have to make due with the popular meme templates for comments.

Using the embeded codes is only for posting memes that already are in existence. Like if you wanted to link this on or one of your own in the comment section. You can still add new memes from your phone's picture albums. For that you wouldn't use embeded codes. You would click on upload image, find the image on your phone you want to use, click on that, then do not put a title or check the box allowing it to be a template but rather just click on upload. Then type in your text and click generate.

I use a phone too and what i do is add a nonpopular image and stretch it out over the top of the popular template either fully or partly. I find it tricky at times but maybe u have better screen touch than i. :D

I use a phone also and I always get an error when I coy/paste the url in. The work-around I found was just to save the image to my phone and then hit “upload my own image”. Not sure if there is a better way though.

When I do it it says to click to make it show. How do you get it to just show?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but if you mean how to do a regular meme comment, you click Add Meme while you're making the comment. Then you can use a popular template, or click Upload Image to upload your own, and make a meme as normal. Write text in the comment box if you want text next to it, and finally click Post Comment. :)

I’m on iPad too just try holding down on the bbcode thing and press copy and then when you go to comments hold the typing box down and press paste when that pops up

Try to Remove the 'S in HTTPS, I haven't tried it with a gif though. I can't get it to just post the mene/gif but it adds a (click to show) button 😉

Hold tap to highlight. By the text a menu should appear with cut, copy, and paste. Then just follow the instructions.
