I am assuming you are referring to Christians when you say "your views". I will step out on a limb here and say that might not be a bad idea in some cases. It's that most people who say they are Christian are not, and that is where the hate/bad parts come from. But to only let one religion form the basis would not be fair to the others. I will say this for what it's worth. There needs to be certain morals taught.
Like what Theodore Roosevelt said: "To educate a man in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace to society."

Hmmm...I'm Christian and I will disagree with you there. Look into European history, particularly Catholicism and Christianity....its really bloody. All religions have committed atrocities in the name of God.

Actually the cruzades and the Inquisition are answers to more than 800 years of Muslim attacks and invasions against Catholics. So, it is defending against people like ISIS of these years. The truth is that protestants -and not catholics- bloody oppossed people and burn cities ablaze trying to drive off catholics of their territories in the early years of their religion. Also, ALL of that happens 400 hundred years ago. Guess you need to properly study history and not dark and false legends. And then TODAY all catholics and christians not teach to give money to the people who fight against the infidels like today muslims do. The Coran says that is mandatory if you don´t fight give money to ones who really fight. You are pretty clueless.

I wasn't referring to any of that. I was referring to the Catholic church having dirty hands and being the supreme rulers of European nations. Royalty couldn't do anything without approval. The church approved of torture and murder, even committed acts themselves to keep the power and money flowing towards them.

Supreme rulers of European nations? It was the religion of those countries, when religion is a part of political actions, it´s not today, it´s was at least 4 centuries ago. And the lynchings and executions without trial are commonplace in Middle Ages Europe (yeah, just like Game of Thrones but without fantasy creatures) so the church just controling nobles and giving a trial in the Inquisition actually made the thing less messy, fairier and more legal. The Inquisition was in fact the most fairer tribunal of their era and geographical zone. And they actually kill just 300 people on the 3 hundred years of the tribunal. That´re historical facts and can be proven, but I guess you don´t like to read either. It´s another era, and you think catholics and christians are like them today? Christians and people of religion are taking things too far? It is suppossed that YOUR religion must define your POLITICAL views and MORALS, that is the objective of religion. But Islam in fact have political influence and define politics and the acts of terrorism, and christianism do not. Even hear of Planned Parenthood and its buying of fetus parts? If a country is even slightly christian it WILL NOT permit such ATROCITIES. Sorry to say that but America surely is not christian at all.

Being Christian does not make someone higher morally! There are plenty of "Christians" who do and say terrible things. Sometimes in the "Name" of God. Christians attacking and murdering people of other faiths, or LBGT. I'm not Catholic anymore because I do not support child molesters getting away their crimes because the church covers them up. I'm sick of the hypocrisy!

In fact they say they are christians but they are not. Christianity teachings are against abortion, the practice of homosexuality (not LBGT people, that is NOT the same concept as it not the same your work and yourself), and a bunch of other controversial behaviors. And actually murder of other people are not teaching of the christianism. Catholics for example teach "righteous defense" and you can found that teaching in their catechism, that are not the same like assassination. In short, "righteous defense" is defending the country and your life of people who really tries to kill you. Other christians teach similar in their gatherings. If people do things contrary to the teachings of some religion they do not must be considered part of them. Christians teachings and most today catholics and christians DO NOT put a gun on your head to force you to do something, they simply say "that is wrong, that is right". If you don´t like their teachings, just don´t follow them. Religion is about morality, it is supposed to. So that is "excessive" in your point of view. I'm sick of having this same religious argument with people on here! The Bible contradicts itself over and over again. The teachings of Christ and the Ten commandments are the only parts that I agree with and follow. The rest of it is ridiculous! There are all kinds of passages that go agaist the commandments and the words of Christ. You can't be anti abortions and pro war. No one complains when we are murdering innocents in war yet all people do is complain about abortions. When. People can't pay for their own families tgey are called losers who don't deserve to make a living wage because they are flipping burgers. I'm so sick of this BS! I think that most americans believe that because a politician addresses himself or herself as catholic that means that he or she truly believes and defends catholic doctrine. Catholic doctrine (and all christian doctrines for that matter) DOES NOT believe that racism is okay -even if people thinks they do- as their belief is against abortion, stem-cell investigation, human cloning, euthanasia, giving rights to animals (yes, true catholic and christian doctrine are also against that), the practice of the homosexuality (not LGTB people -that not the same concept-), and other controversial issues. By the way, correctly apllyied science also are against most of their issues, so it´s matter of common sense, not only religion. If someone says he is christian and he is racist, he does not follow christian doctrine in that matter, because the teaching is not to be racist. The same with catholic doctrine. Simple.

If Inquisition and cruzades was as brutal as many people think first we don´t have ISIS to start this discussion in the first place.
