I side with liberals when it comes to World Cup enthusiasm. Whenever that rolls around, every single right-wing media outlet in the entire country is b**ching and moaning - quite dramatically, too, I might add - about how "un-American" soccer is, how "nobody cares about it," how "real Americans hate soccer," and that it's a "socialist sport." While on the other hand, most left-wingers are just enjoying the tournament, and cheering on our team. It's the one time out of every four years when I feel genuine kinship with the folks on the other side of the aisle.

I guess you didn't see the thing on FOX news about the US winning the women's World Cup being a GOOD thing. :|

I don't watch Fox News regularly, but that was one addendum I forgot to mention. I was indeed pleasantly surprised by the general outpouring of support for the women's U.S. team during the WWC.

Don't take this the wrong way, but you are literally disdaining all liberal ideologies, with the idea that yours are better...No opinion is wrong, and for you to say that the entire liberal community is wrong makes you look like a bigot. You may not agree with them, but that doesn't make their ideals incorrect

Denying Climate Change is incorrect...because its a proven science, not an ideology...Stating that vaccines cause autism is incorrect, because there is no study that proves it to be true.

Lets use Gun Rights as an ideology...Liberal people say that it should be limited for the safety of its citizens...there is nothing wrong with that opinion. Most conservatives say that you should be allowed to bear a firearm, in the case of protecting yourself...Nothing wrong with that ideology either. The problem is when people don't see a middle ground on issues like these...such as Gun Restriction for criminals, and licensing...where you can still own any gun, you just have to take a course to learn how to use that gun properly...and that is what we call (in democracy) compromise, where you get the best of both worlds.

For you to deny an entire ideology is quite insane, because without it, there is no middle ground, and only 1 solution is left on the table, which may never work, or cause problems later on, when certain aspects of the problem were never addressed.

I like lamp. She isn't always right, but is always open to an exchange of ideas. She doesn't go off on tirades without being open to the idea that there are other possibilities that may be right other than hers. That is why she takes offense to liberal stereotypes. She is not a stereotypical liberal. Keep on keeping on Lamp.

I never said that there aren't dumb opinions...for you to reply like that shows that you are unaware of my point...And FTR, Child molestation is considered wrong socially, religiously, ethically and legally...therefore its not an opinion...Smoking Cannabis has medical benefits, and legalizing it has logic to it...It may not be religiously accepted or ethically accepted, but those are personal opinions, and your personal opinions shouldn't be ruling over every other citizen, because not everyone is the same...Cannabis is legal in many areas and other countries, therefore it is not necessarily legally unaccepted, and millions of people smoke cannabis, therefore it technically is socially acceptable...

No, I'd rather cut the crap and fix the problem. If you don't fix the root cause, you'll never end up with the result you want. Think of it like cancer. Once it has spread to other parts of the body, you still need to remove the point of origin. Only then will the other treatments begin to function properly. It's not easy, and for some parts of society, can take generations. But half measures won't do anything.

The point im trying to make is that you are making it sound like Lamp condones cannibalism and molestation. No decent human agrees with that, but what he meant is there is no wrong opinion inside the law

Basically, Redstone draws the line at "law" but only when it agrees with him. So, hence the problem. Idiots.

So your defending cannibalism?
reply

So who is the moral authority that decides where to draw the line? You can say that it is common sense, but everyone draws the line in a different place. Opinions can absolutely be wrong and negative consequences can come from them.
reply

Like i said, the line should be drawn at law, because thats where a majority can agree it should be

Atheists aren't allowed to run for office in Texas. Though the Lone Star State prohibits "religious tests" as a qualification for candidates, anyone wishing to run for office must acknowledge the existence of a "Supreme Being."

Look, I get what you're saying. But some people are just wrong, including those who wrote state laws.

When it outlawed the act in 1990, Idaho became the only state to declare cannibalism illegal. The act is strictly prohibited and punishable by up to 14 years in prison, but it's okay to "willfully ingest the flesh or blood of a human being" in life-or-death situations — if it's the only apparent means or survival.

Ok, you are getting way too nitpicky about this, Lamp has stated what i beleive to be true.

FTR, Child molestation is considered wrong socially, religiously, ethically and legally...therefore its not an opinion, and for you to even say that it is socially acceptable, then maybe you should look at the Duggar scandal...Smoking Cannabis has medical benefits, and legalizing it has logic to it...It may not be religiously accepted or ethically accepted, but those are personal opinions, and your personal opinions shouldn't be ruling over every other citizen, because not everyone is the same...Cannabis is legal in many areas and other countries, therefore it is not necessarily legally unaccepted, and millions of people smoke cannabis, therefore it technically is socially acceptable...
