Oh, I f**king hate the ''games make you violent!'' assholes. I mean, its been proven that they not only don't make you violent, but make you MORE intelligent.

Indeed.. I can clearly see the intelligence flowing from your mouth through the words you use. And your reply is the exact one I'd expect from a non violent person. Good job little boy.

Asshole.... do research. Its been proven about a hundred times over that they DON'T make you violent.

Well you need to educate yourself first, then tell people to do research. Otherwise your words have no weight and seriousness and will just show how little immature of a person you are.

If you would listen to REAL scientists, instead of scare-tactic media jackoffs who want to sell papers, you would see that noahk777 is correct, and you are just a dumb f**k who listens to anything a retard on the news says.

apparently both of you guys are hard core gamers. Lemme see.. Hard core WOW and GTA gamers? Well educated young fellas. I can see your intelligence shining bright. Keep it up and let me know how that'll work out for you later in your life :)

Have never played WoW or GTA. It has been proven that video games do not make you violent, not by assholes trying to get money, but by real scientists. Do some research on it. What more, its been shown that surgeons that play games make roughly seven times less mistakes.

so video games make you violent, sadistic, and murderous? What about Pol Pot, Hitler, Stalin, Vlad the Impaler, Ivan the Terrible, Ted Bundy, Jack the Ripper, the Unabomber, the Zodiac Killer, John Wilkes Booth, Saddam Hussein, Osama Bin Laden, and Lee Harvey Oswald? I can't seem to remember if they were COD, Battlefield, or GTA players. Do you know? Oh yeah, they didn't have video games! You are just a dumb f**k who should have been drowned at birth. Your mom probably knocked back a bottle of Jack while she had you in the oven, or else you wouldn't have been so f**king retarded.

There have been multiple studies. Here’s one: http://www.gamesbrief.com/2010/08/if-video-games-cause-violence-there-should-be-a-correlation-between-game-sales-and-violent-crime-right/

Need any more? Just ask.

Sorry, nevermind. That is NOT a study, but it cites some good ones.

Oh, and if you want to get to the subject of grammar, nonviolent has to be one word or have a hyphen (non-violent), so you are a total f**king retard. And I do not mean that in the sense that you have a mental handicap, I mean it in the literal sense, which means you have a lower I. Q. than 75. HAHAHAHAHAHA F**KER

you want to call me a f**king loser, huh? I am a high school freshman, and I don't know what adults were like to teenagers back in the prehistoric ages when you were a teen, but all adults do right now is be hypocrites and trample on everyone's freedom. I don't know how old you are, but I am not the loser if you are an adult that just starts internet arguments with teenagers. And I am not an idiot. I have a genius I.Q. and take calculus right now while I am 14, yet still play the trumpet and baseball. And yes, I hate adults, because they are the worst kind of idiot. They are almost always wrong because they grew up in a world that is far different from today, but are too stubborn to change and instead want people who actually have a relevant skillset to change their ways to match the adults. My parents are idiots, my teachers are idiots, everyone is too much of a dumb f**k to understand anything. I do know some adults who are smart, but they don't have enough clout in anything to make a difference. People like you, you just make the stereotype of the fascist adult even more believable to level-minded teenagers such as myself. It might be worse because of all the old people in my home state, but adults are total f**king retards. And you, sir, are the king of the bunch. I feel bad for you.

hahaha so much anger in you little man who has yet to start his own independent life. Buddy I've been there done that, but you still have yet to be there. I have been a teenager and have gone through the anger issues just like you're going through right now. It's ok. Better express your anger than keeping it in. I don't mind. That is why I am self composed and you are not. All IQ in the world won't help you in that. I am 28 little man. Twice your age to be called a full fledged adult, yet too young to be called a sir. But I'll take it. I was dependent once to my parents, now they are dependent on me. I was angry at them at times, but that's all I knew at the time. Wisdom comes with experience. You my friend have yet to learn, so I encourage you to keep expanding your horizon, and understanding. That way your IQ will be of good use. I am talking you on internet the same I'd talk to you face to face. Yes some adults do horrible things.. Some adults never grew up. They nurtured hatred in them, and grew with it as adults. But you don't have to join the crowd. Difference starts at YOU young buddy. You can either grow up cursing and hating people because they have a different opinion than yours, or you can grow up LISTENING to people even if their opinions are different, and learn to express your own opinion peacefully. That is also an advice from my part. Because all the skills in the world won't help you in life if you don't learn how to communicate with others. Stay cool buddy :)

You were much younger than I actually thought. Your words indeed show some kind of maturity for your age of 14, but they are still raw and unpolished.

And no. You ain't loser. You're a fighter. I like a fighting spirit. You just need to learn some skills that's all. Then you can become a real fighter for a good cause when you grow into adulthood ;)

Actually, they make a few people violent. One 9 year old who loved his grandmother randomly shot her in the head after playing GTA V.
1 up, 10y
Thats because its a 9 year old with no concept of real life who is playing a game he shouldnt be playing.

Yes, it depends on the person.

Violent video Games indeed make you violent. Just as life can make you violent as well. It is the law of nature. Stay close to the heat you get hot. Stay outside in the cold you get cold. Water exposed to the sun will get warm over time. Mind exposed to violence will accept it easily over time. Violent people weren't created overnight. Whether life, or video games they gradually will change your mental state. This meme is very unintelligent and rude.. Just what you'd expect from teens who have yet to know how much their parents have put up in life and appreciate them. And all those who support this attitude toward their parents, or even moms in general.

No, games do not make you violent, Adolf Hitler didn't have video games nor did any of the worlds dictators, your just as bad as the stupid f**king people that live next door to me. The special ed people at my high school are smarter than you.

I have to disagree. Everyone is different and to say games cause violence is misleading. Yes some people that play violent video games become violent but the vast majority don't. In fact, video games actually helped me growing up by wanting to make me do the right thing like the heroes in the games I was playing.

My stance is more or less, don't punish everyone just because a few people get carried away, but I do see Arcadian's side of the argument. Exposure to violence can have a really negative effect on certain individuals. The truth lies somewhere in the middle. Let's stop insulting each other for our differing points of view and find the common ground. Violent video games contribute to violence in some people, but not the vast majority. It's not a simple yes or no issue. All the historical references made prove my point as well. Hitler, Stalin, Mao, etc, were all the type of person that these games would have a negative effect on. Furthermore, it is ultimately up to the parent what they do with their child. I was one of those rebelious kids, who, when my computer time was limited, I'd still get on the computer. And when my keyboard got taken away, I'd go out and buy a new one (I had a job and was still being bossed around, but that was because I lived under my father's roof and thus, his rules).

yes, but my point was that they committed atrocities without the influence of the games, making that part of your argument invalid. Some people are just f**ked up, and can't be given a butter knife without hurting someone. Those people are just f**king insane and should be kept under close watch. While mass shootings are tragedies, they can not be prevented by mass banning of video games or guns. Have you ever heard of Prohibition? After liquor was banned, it just got into the hands of abusers of it, and good people just had to live without it. Also, there was lots of gang violence and other atrocities. No problems can be solved with mass illegalization.
1 up, 10y
Agreed. For the most part I agree with your point. I was merely putting the debate to rest or rather, moderating it from a third, more neutral perspective.

It depends really on if the brain can know fiction from reality. A five y/o playing the latest installment of "kill everything you see because you can" will probably grow more violent because they can't tell fiction from reality. However, a 13 y/o playing "work together as a team to accomplish an objective while being attacked by another team" probably knows that just because it's fine in the game doesn't make it fine in real life.
