North Africa is a band of islamic tribes and generally has more wealth than central and southern Africa, the trolls would probably claim islam as a reason, but reality is conflicts, weather, distance, migration patterns and a thousand other issues play a bigger role.
Keeping economics out of it and you get a different read, which islamic country doesn't have an internal conflict or one with its neighbors and the negative impact on Africans living in those areas. North Africa is dangerous for non muslims, South Africa is dangerous for everyone, Central Africa depends on location, and which tribal groups are moving through when you are dumb enough to visit.
