Technically, but not all sins. There are two types of sins, mortal and venial. Venial sins, you don't need to worry about, as these sins you do without realizing. Mortal sins, however, are done with your consent and you know that this act will hurt your relationship with God. Once you are repentant, the Sacrament of Confession allows you to cleanse yourself of these sins, with penance done to show you are sorry for your sins.

this is why most religions sound so dumb to me, the general idea most religions have is "be good and you will be rewarded" but then they also throw in "also if you don't 100% devote yourself to this guy you have never seen and have little reason to believe exists you are still punished"

fax's, even though I am Christian myself, I still don't like the whole idea that you must devote 100%. people in christainty have sadly used that idea as a way to fear monger people to make people to join, I thought we are suppose to spread love not fear.
