Spain stole the land, then the Mexicans got independence. Then we bought it from Mexico.

Spain Conquered by Conquering, not stealing. Stop it with the semantics. There is no valor in theft.

Even after all this, 16yrs after the Treaty of Hidalgo, Mexico had an Austrian King & a Belgian Queen

Maximilian I of Mexico and his imperial squeeze, Carlota of Belgium. By invite.

Yes, you are correct. I was just following along with what the left keeps saying and I apologize for that. Spain did conquer. Just like the British conquered this land. Just like the Aztecs conquered most of Mexico before Europeans came here.

The Aztecs stole the land before the Spanish. They were mercenaries hired by the rulers of the area that decided they kinda liked it and murdered they’re employers.

That's funny because I had just replied to UrbanDwellersAlmanac about the Aztecs conquering most of Mexico. Some say they even came up as far as what is now the United States. It is because of that the Mexican-Americans who have been heavily influenced by Marxism call the Southwestern States "Atzlan". Atzlan is the land conquered by the Aztecs. Do Mexican-Americans have any actual claim to the land. Oh hell no. That window of opportunity closed with the Spaniards conquered Mexico. Plus I do not think Aztlan extended as far north as where the US is. I think that is where the communist influence comes in.

American Indian tribes were frequently conquering, invading and stealing from other tribes. That kind of behavior is seen in all of the history of mankind when groups formed tribes before civilizations were created. And really a civilization is just a mega-tribe.

The USA acquired ceded lands by Mexico on Ground Hogs Day,
1848 in the Treaty of Guadelupe Hidalgo.

The USA paid Mexico $15M for 338,6 Million acres for these ceded lands. (4.4 cents per acre)
The USA paid France $15M for 530 Million acres in the Louisiana Purchase (2.8 cents per acre)

The USA gave back current day Mexico lands as part of the Treaty of Guadelupe Hidalgo agreement.

The USA paid the same amount of money to Mexico for 191,400,000 less acres
than they bought from France for the same price. (45years later)
