To broad of a statement, many people donate time, effort and income to help others. The streets of most large cities are filled with people no longer able to take care of themselves and no government has shown an ability to help them, many don't even try.

Yeah, all them meth-laden trailer parks and moribund economies where the choice of career is either at the Walmart or government job.
