Capitalism is not evil. People can be evil. Evil people in capitalism is still vastly superior then good people and socialism.

That's the problem. And that is the difference between the right and the left. The right understands that it is impossible for any government to give away free stuff because government's do not produce anything.

The left are just too stupid to know that they are paying for it through taxes and at a much higher cost.

I'm hoping that the leftists in NYC are finding that out right now. Mamdani keeps having to backtrack or raise taxes just to even think about offering all of the free stuff he is promising.

War only has, at best, a short term boom in the economy. Production of war machines does spur the economy a bit. But in the end it crashes because it is a negative economy boost. It is, like everything in government, the Broken Window Fallacy.

Governments do not produce wealth. They don't produce anything at all. Only private citizen in a free market can produce wealth.

So, in light of that, isn't Reagan's Military spending considered the straw that broke the Kremlin's back ? & because of these policies, right after he left his second term, the Wall Came Down in Berlin for Bush Sr. to take the credit ? Not sure that narrative, and yours line up that well...

I was just saying that people look at war as good for the economy. It is not. Sometimes war is necessary, to preserve our freedom. Sometimes war is not with boots on the ground but with diplomacy and/or currency. None of that is good for the economy but sometime it is necessary to avoid an actual war.

The most important things are life and liberty. The economy comes after life and liberty are secured.

Ike in his parting address, made the point that the MIC actually IS the USA economy in Peace now as well as WAR as the economic machine created in WWII to support the troops, kept going.yet diplomacy and/or currency. This is precisely what occurred when FDR & Churchill got together to decide to create a "Special Relationship" where a Fascist Totalitarian such as Hitler would Never Rise to Power Again, and need be defeated.

The point you make that sometimes war is not with boots on the ground, but with diplomacy and paying off the mob... errr currency; is precisely how Kissinger trained and advised Klaus Schwab to create the World Economic Forum.
