Very true. I've met Trump twice and spent about an hour with him each time. I dealt with a lot of billionaires and he was different. I was supervising super high end construction and he was there to see our client. But I took him around the jobsite and he wanted to be introduced to all 25 of the people working with me. He asked personal questions, and questions about the work they were doing and the thing that really struck me is that he asked questions and listened. One of my workers had a young son about to go for some intense surgery shortly after that first visit. When Trump came for his second visit, I greeted him, and he shook my hand warmly and called me by name, reasonable to expect since I had been his tour guide, right? The first thing he said then was, "Where is Joe?" I told him and them followed him to where Joe was working and he said, "Joe, Donald Trump, I met you a month ago, how is your son?" I had to shovel my jaw off the floor. He then went around the project and called all 25 people by their names and referred to personal things they shared, and again, he asked questions and listened. I had been working with this group for 3 months and I still couldn't keep names straight.
If you understand New Yorkers, you have to be tough or you get bulldozed, you understand the bravado (what comes across as offensive) and the real person behind the veneer. If people treated Trump decently, they would be shocked at how well he will treat you. He's a decent man. I've read accounts of people in his administration and they describe the same man I met.
Read his Playboy interview, I think you can get it on line. He's saying the same things now that he said then, he's consistent, and he genuinely wants to do what is best for the US for generation, no matter what anyone thinks. How in hell do people hate him and Musk for exposing and eliminating billions of dollars in fraud and waste. Fraud and waste- and they burn Tesla dealerships and vandalize people's Teslas. How in hell do people hate him for finally dealing with a hostile nuclear threat? Unless of course they are cashing in from the Military Industrial Complex scam. In the past if we didn't like a president we gritted it out until the next election. We negotiated political wins when possible, compromise when needed and losses when we took them and we looked forward to the next election. Now we have people who want to kill everyone working in the White House.
