It seems as though, "negotiate" only means, "don't kill us yet", rather than "let's have peace".

The demonrats have already shown they are all in on paying our enemies, if they agree to attack us when it can be used for their political gain.

To beat someone at their own game, you have to be on the same level as them and use the same equipment and tactics they use. Only you have to use them better than they can.
