That's not what it means. Jesus said, 'foundation', not 'the leader of the whole Church'."
⬛ Aww, come on, got to go along with the story, it's second in brilliance only to Saul/Paul, assassin of Christians.
It goes something like this:
So once upon a time Peter betrays Jesus three times in one night before the cock crows, just like Jesus said he would, and then after everything was said done and the dust cleared and some guy who didn't even look like Jesus but claimed he was his zombie says, later boys... And then the day after Peter says to the rest of the gang, "No, no, you guys don't understand, we talked it out, he said all is forgiven, and he put me in charge. So I'm in charge now, I'm the leader."
That is some bonafide takeover. Luv it.
And then Saul/Paul, killer of Christians did the similar thing some years later except he never met any of them just killed them and replaced Peter and James in their feuding churches. So conniving, his story has just got to be true, Paul may have actually existed. For real real.
It's brilliant. If you can't beat them, make them join you.
And thus the anti-christ Saul corrupted the Word and and so the Beast came to sit in Rome, prophecy fulfilled. It wasn't called Roman Catholic by accident. They're literally flaunting it.
