As a software developer who has used Microsoft development tools most of my career I should owe him some respect but I don't. He lost that respect when he told every to eat bugs while he has filet mignon. When he said we need to reduce the population but he didn't start with himself.

Apparently he was an actual programmer starting in his teens. He wrote Altair BASIC which was the first BASIC interpreter for the first IBM PCs. He wrote it in Assembly language. That's pretty hard core.

But when Microsoft started to turn a profit he became more of a manager than a programmer. He probably couldn't write code today because it's been too long since he was writing Assembly code.
