If there is one group who should get the help this country affords it should be african americans as they are the only group brought here against their will. Every other group has come here because they wanted to and should not get on welfare the minute they step off Ellis Island.
As for anti immigrant sentiment, all first generation immigrants have faced it, I'm a mick and know all about the "Irish need not apply" signs that businesses had up around 1900, and yet we got ahead and didnt bitch about the conditions because we WANTED to be here, we didn't go about making America Ireland, and so Minnesota should not become Somalia to make them feel more at home, if they liked it so much there then they should go back.
