I think it was a natural devolution of leftism when during the 2020 six months long mostly violent 'summer of love' absolutely nothing happened to the thousands upon thousands of ANTIFA and BLM rioters and looters and arsonists. When there are absolutely no meaningful consequences for routinely violating the law then things escalate and become even more violent and radical in nature.

That sure is a likely contributor, amongst a myriad of other things.
