Most Americans supported W Bush's 2003 invasion of Iraq because they thought it was payback for the Ayatollah and the 'Iraqians' holding those hostages. Plus Al Qaeda. They couldn't even remember that it was the same country his father took us to war against in 1991.
Further, there was no Al Qaeda in Iraq, they were in Afghanistan, another country nobody had heard of. Until September 11th, 2001.
The only reason why we hear of Somalia and Somalis on this site is because the MAGA were told to hate all things Ilhan Omar after she got elected in 2019.
Mind you, these are the same people that thought India was a country located in Africa until Kamala Harris ran for president last year. Then suddenly she became Caucasian. Other than that, most Americans didn't know Somali from salami before this recent Minnesota scandal.
