Except it's not the flock that's saying he did anything wrong. They stand by everything he does, that's part of what makes them a cult.

Republican politicians do not all bear the Mark of the MAGA. Even some that did, like Marjorie Taylor Greene, are of something of a different cut than the average members of the base. There's a reason why she has her job, and most MAGA don't have any. So while she may had been a supporter in the past, but she's not a member of the cult.

Sure there will always be SOME people who are overly loyal to a president. They’re just wrong in that case. There’s probably people like that for every president in history
But that’s just an obsession. Not a cult. Especially if it’s not Trumps fault people are acting like that. He doesn’t recognize himself as a cult leader

Of course he doesn't recognize himself as a cult leader. They never do.
He looks at himself as a god, and by some major coincidence that's exactly how he's treated by his cult.

I'll make it easier for you, as evidently you haven't been around that long. The closest would be Reagan and Clinton. Bill Clinton, Hillary's husband. Yes, Hillary Clinton has a husband and he was actually president back in the 1990s for two terms. The guy was sweating groupies like you wouldn't believe. He could do no wrong in their eyes. But they were groupies who lusted for him, not a cult that worshipped him.

They may have elevated Reagan to sainthood, but they didn't consider him to be the Second coming.

No, that is a safety precaution to help prevent the spread of a plague, often, if not always, mandated by law, as it was here.

Not wearing a mask when you're supposed to, and risking death - and some had died because of doing that - that's cult behavior.

Some are going along for the ride, some are exploiting him for their own purposes, some are there out of fear.
