You should realize that Communism and Islamism are mutually irreconcilable.

Exactly! The communists are so stupid they think they can use islam to achieve their goals and then they'll eliminate the muslim element. Boy howdy, won't they be surprised when they find out what real zeal is. Islam will lie, cheat, steal- whatever it takes to eliminate EVERYONE who refuses to submit to alluh. Won't those LGBTQUIA+ from the river to the sea dupes be surprised when their skulls crash into the pavement below multi-story buildings!

The next piece to understand is that being a Muslim does not mean being an Islamist, any more than being a Christian means being a Crusader. My Muslim coworkers and my LGBTQ+ coworkers get along fine, despite the fear-mongering the right wing has levied against both groups. And American Jews know that the people attacking Muslims today will attack us when they get the chance.

So you're saying you are all bad Muslims that don't follow the Quran?

I'm saying that if we're taking the holy texts literally (hello, Jehovah's Witnesses!) there will be some problematic bits in any religion. A good example is the koan "If you meet the Buddha in the road, kill him." It is not actually an invitation to murder, it just sounds that way.

And, for clarity, I'm not Muslim: I just don't like bigotry against any religion.

That's not in the Christian bible.

Go read the bible then, and note all the places where it's problematic. I gave an example from a different faith to prove my point.

There are no problematic parts in the Christian king James Bible. They've been trying to tear it down for over 2000 years and have failed.

Well, it's a classic translation, that's for sure.
1 up, 3w
It was done by the top scholars of the time and was a literal translation. Unlike modern translations that try to convey meaning but that requires that they understand the meaning in the first place.

That's how it works until they reach a threshold of about 15% of the population. Religion of cough cough Peace until they become the religion of pieces from bomb fragments and hacking murders. Don't be deceived.

Any argument you want to make against Muslims, try substituting the word "Christians" and see how offensive it feels. Then walk it back.
3 ups, 4w,

Facts are facts. If you substitute those words the sentences won't even make sense "Christians are commanded to kill Christians" for example.

So, it's been a while, but you might want to read some European history: Christians have been commanded to kill Christians a ton. And of course, Christian mullahs have often encouraged Christians to kill or persecute other monotheists.
3 ups, 4w,

Christians were never commanded to kill Christians. Some kings commanded their troops to kill other kings troops, some of which may have been Christians. Christians don't have mullahs bro. They have a pope, bishops, and pastors.
Now the Roman Catholic Church has done a lot of bad things but they aren't really Christians.
0 ups, 4w,

They are really Christians, and so are the many Protestant denominations that have brawled with them.
2 ups, 4w,
1 reply
No, they require you to talk to dead people otherwise known as necromancer or witchcraft. Strictly a sin in the Bible. They also require you to be part of the Catholic Church to be saved. Hundreds of other things.
0 ups, 4w
If you don't even acknowledge Catholicism and (I'm guessing) Eastern Orthodox Christianity as Christian, you must belong to one of the more strictly fanatical Protestant denominations.

It has been a while, you might want to read some real history. Christian mulluh is in the truest sense of the word, an oxymoron. Your use of it serves to discredit whatever source you are referring to as authoritative.

"Christian mullah" is a metaphor that I am using that perfectly describes the leaders of Pete Hegseth's sect among others: "Pastor Doug Wilson, a CREC co-founder, leads Christ Church in Moscow, Idaho, the network’s flagship location. Jovial and media-friendly, Wilson is no stranger to stirring controversy with his church’s hard-line theology and its embrace of patriarchy and Christian nationalism." He and his group are positioning themselves to copy Iran's theocratic revolution, unlike Mamdani.

Why look at Doug Wilson? Is he famous or something?
0 ups, 3w
He's one of the leaders of Pete Hegseth's church, so his (medieval) ideas about the world are actually influencing the US Armed Forces.

Not a metaphor it's an intentional insult and a perversion. Nice job of cut and paste.
Try this, it's a bit painful at first, but very rewarding once you get in the habit. Think for yourself.
0 ups, 3w
Believe me, I do. I get that it's frustrating to you that I don't come to the same conclusions I do.

If you want to see intentional insult and perversion, look at the actions of Doug Wilson and his vicious cronies.

And to be honest, your conclusions don't really mean anything to me, that's not an insult, just a statement of fact. I spent much of my working life as an analyst, looking for trends, patterns, trajectory, outliers, variables and making sense of data, etc. Quite literally, if I made a mistake, it could cost my clients millions of dollars in a matter of a few hours. I wasn't paid to be close, I was paid to be right. Not occasionally, every time. I apply that same discipline to my worldview. The data is out there. History is out there. Science is out there. Doctrine is out there. Opinion is out there, but it's value is subservient to verifiable fact.
When GW Bush said islum is the religion of peace, the statement had no basis in fact, in reality the fact at that time was that islum was engaged in 80% of the bullet flying wars in the world. Hardly peace. (Source- CIA Publicly Available World Data) I've been an eye witness to Life's Rich Pageant, I've been in the middle the Disturbance at the Heron House. Sorry, I just had to use song titles from one of my favorite bands during my time as a DJ at public radio station.

Ooh, I like REM too. If you get paid to analyze data, then you must be aware of the concept of confounding factors, and therefore of the weakness of an argument that pinpoints Islam the religion as the source of those conflicts.

"If you don't even acknowledge Catholicism and (I'm guessing) Eastern Orthodox Christianity as Christian, you must belong to one of the more strictly fanatical Protestant denominations."

Nah, I just read the Bible where it says things like no longer needing a priest to 8ntercede between you and God and not talk to dead people and belief in Jesus being the only thing needed to be saved.

You twist words, which is the primary indicator you can't "win" the argument with your untenable positions. You've reached the end of the reply chain, all I can do is "flag" your last comment in a thread, which I don't want to do. This is a classic example of logic vs emotion. Take a deep breath, hold it, let it out slow. You'll eventually calm down.
What about Parthenon Huxley? Listen to any Hoo Doo Gurus? Dovetail Joint? Smithereens? REM went full suck when they became mainstream, unfortunately. Favorites?
And no, I'm not working anymore, retired. Don't get me wrong, GW Bush sucked, DICK Cheney sucked, Mitt Romney sucked, John McCain sucked, just not as bad as Obama and Biden. How about that Nancy Pelosi, she made a 17,000% (yes 17,000%) ROI on her stock portfolio. Don't even try to defend that.

No words twisted, just paraphrased from the bible.
Here are the actual verses
1 Timothy 2:5: "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;"
Hebrews 4:14-16:16: "Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."
Hebrews 7:24-27: "But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself."
Hebrews 10:19-22: "Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water."
Deuteronomy 18:10-12: "There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee."
Isaiah 8:19: "And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?"
1 Samuel 28:7-8 (example of violation): Describes King Saul consulting a medium at Endor to speak with the deceased Samuel, which is portrayed negatively and leads to his downfall

lokiare, I hate long threads when comments get out of order-- I am 100% of the same wisely and carefully considered things you state, having carefully studied them like you. That comment was for lyoll.
These are indisputable truths (I love the verses you've quoted and your defense of the faith). In fact I'm the pastor of a small country church- do you want to come deliver the message sometime? The congregation gets tired of me sometimes when I quote the Bible and connect it to current events, which is happening more frequently now, just like the Bible says it would.
Rock on lokiare!

John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
John 14:6: "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Acts 4:12: "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."
Acts 16:30-31: "And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."
Ephesians 2:8-9: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
Romans 10:9: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

Oh. Moral equivalence, the powerful debate tool of ambiguity. Let's look at all of the wars in the world right now. Hmmmm, seems the majority involves muslums. Wonder why that is. Hmmmmm, let's look at all the real genocide going on in the world. Seems the vast majority involve muslums or communists. Must be Christians behind it all. Hmmmmm, wonder who is behind burning tens of thousands of churches to the ground around the world, including the Cathedral of Notre Dame. Oh, it's the religion of peace of course. #Bring Back Our Girls. I think Michelle is still waiting for that.

This sounds exactly like an argument for redlining, mutatis mutandis.
