Making people take safety precautions during a health emergency is not the same as using government power to shut down shows that disagree with you, target your political opponents, send the military to act as law-enforcement in cities or grab people off the street just because of their skin color

Pointing to some individual cases of hypocrisy doesn't change the fact that those measures were put in place to keep people safe during a health crisis. If you see somebody driving without their seatbelt, does that change the fact that wearing a seatbelt helps keep you safer in a car accident.
