New York has the largest city in the United States of America.
New York City is the safest big city in the United States of America.
Blue States, particularly in the Northeast, are more heavily populated than most other states. They have more cities too. Blue cities. That's what makes them Blue States, more Blue cities. More Blue towns. More Blue counties.... They still have lower per capita violent crime rates then Red States do.
NYC is 20 - 25% 'Black' (depending on whether you include 'Black Hispanics in the count), 28% Hispanic, 30% non-Hispanic 'White,' 25% poverty rate.... Our minorities each separately outnumber the population of your biggest cities. I don't mean outnumber than minorities in your cities, I mean each separate minority outnumbers the entire population of your biggest cities. We have 2.49 million Hispanics. Houston has a population of 2.39 million people. Our poor outnumber yours.
Yet our crime rate does not.
And that's just Texas. NYC has a larger population than 39 of the US states. 39. And yet it's the biggest safe city in America. It's safer than small towns too, rural areas as well. With not just our total population number, but whatever minorities you wish to scapegoat, whatever else about our poverty rate you want to lob in...
If we matched yours in terms of violent crime rates, this would be a constant perpetual Krakatoa. It would make Hiroshima look like a bucolic Sunday afternoon Church picnic. And I mean on a continuing basis, not just one big flash of an explosion.
