Communism is always a failure

Just ask any leftist this: If communism's so great, why did people risk their lives to escape it?

I am currently reading I Must Betray You in English class, and, oh yeah, it drops a whole lotta truth bombs about communism being the TRUE totalitarian/authoritarian dictator.

I know you jest.
However, for the benefit of those who have matriculated through government schools, the real reason was to keep the people trapped behind the “iron curtain” from voting with their feet and leaving the so-called utopian State in droves.
Which is exactly what is happening in many blue states.
