I think there are two things going on right now but this is just my opinion. There's gender dysphoria which is a serious mental illness. Then there is fad. I think it has just become a fad to try to get attention by saying you're something you are not.

That fad is mostly perpetuated by narcissists. Narcissists always demand that others change for them or they will be called and treated like a bad person. So if I don't believe that a man can become a woman then I am a bad person. If I don't believe there are more than 2 genders then I am a bad person. If I do not use a person's preferred pronoun then I am a bad person.

I don't feed narcissism. It is a free country and people can claim whatever they want to about themselves. Everyone has the freedom to do that. But what no one has is the right to do is to force others to participate in their fantasy. It does not makes us evil that we do not accept their fantasies. It just makes them narcissists for demanding that I change for them.

Just like trans people have the right to say whatever they want about themselves, I have the right to disagree with them. It does not mean I hate them or feel superior to them in anyway. It just means I disagree.

Transgender people are not asking for special treatment and they're not even asking for attention, they just want to be left alone to live their lives. But conservatives can't stop harassing them and talking about them and accusing them of things they aren't doing, like preying on children.

If you have a problem with addressing somebody the way they want to be addressed and being respectful of other people, that's your problem. If you're a man and somebody insists on calling you a woman or calling you by the wrong name, that's disrespectful and most people wouldn't like that. And yet conservatives do that every day to transgender people. They treat them in a way that they would not want to be treated themselves. That shows a disturbing lack of empathy.

EVERYONE on the left (except for you) is saying the a person can change their gender. There's even people who strongly believe that a man who transitioned to a woman can get pregnant. That's just insane.

Transgendered are expecting everyone to think of them as their preferred gender. Then the gender queer are demanding we use their preferred pronouns. If you don't the you don't respect them. That is textbook narcissism to make demands of others and then explain how you are somehow wrong for not using those pronouns. Narcissists manipulate everyone to make them feel guilty for not giving them what they want.

Some places, like NYC, has laws against not using someone's preferred pronouns.

Why is it my problem for not believing in the fantasy? I a person is born male but at some point in his adult life he proclaims he is a woman, why do I have to play along with that fantasy? I live in the real world.

If someone announced they were now a dog, I'm not about to pet him and tell him he's a good boy.

I just want to be left alone from that craziness.
