The only places where even quasi-socialism 'works' are nations that the United States invests its own treasury for by way of military might to ensure their parasitical freedom as a nation. Since they themselves pay almost nothing in military expenditures they can 'afford' some degree of socialism.

That is the only way socialism can survive. It has to be propped up. I read several years ago that Sweden decided to go full socialist but apparently the did it as an experiment. When their economy and standard of living began to drop they pulled back and became more of a market based economy. They're probably more socialistic than we are but they at least knew better to keep going down that road.

Yes; and that pattern is historically accurate. But of course U.S. leftists 'the innate gimme that crowd' are inherently incapable of learning any meaningful lessons from history.

So true. And if you ask a socialist to define socialism, most of them can't. Not all of them. There are socialists on ImgFlip that fully understand socialism. But the majority are just sheep who think the government should tuck them into bed at night and kiss them on the forehead. They cannot stand the idea of having to think and do for themselves.

It's the ones who do understand socialism and communism that claim it has never been practiced and that all of the nations who are socialists and communists got it wrong. They are living in a delusion. They don't see the perfectly ordered society they were promised so they claim that everyone else got it wrong.

They've deluded themselves to think that if you take all political power away from the individual (aka liberty) that you will get a perfectly ordered society, a progressive society capable of great things.

They do not understand or even care about freedom or how the individual might choose to live their lives. They do not understand human nature. And perhaps, like Karl Marx, actually detest everyone else.

That's the myth isn't it. When you look into their ideologies it is clear that fascism is just another version of socialism. It always has been. Instead of the government taking over businesses and farms and throwing business owners and farmers out and replacing them with "experts", fascists allow business owners and farmers to stay where they are. They no longer own their business and farms, the government owns it and they don't have complete control over their business and farms, the government does. That is the ONLY difference between socialism and fascism.

It was enough of a difference that Stalin called Mussolini a right-winger. Stalin meant that as an insult and not a classification of his political ideology.

What happened when WWII started and we went to war with Nazis and fascist the American Progressives (who up until that point praised Hitler and Mussolini as "men of the future", as well as Stalin) dropped those ideologies like a hot potato. They had control of the media and education so they pushed those ideologies to the far right.

They had to hope that no one ever asked what N.A.Z.I meant. It is an acronym that when translated from German means the "National Socialist Germans Worker Party". Nazis are socialists. If socialism is on the far left than Nazis are right there with them.

But that is what academia still teaches today. It is so very entrench in our learning that people just don't think about it. I was taught that fascism and Nazis are right wing also.

Fortunately, people much smarter than me wrote books and explained the history of the American Progressive movement. And how all socialist based authoritarian governments as well as monarchies are and have always been on the left.

So what is on the extreme right? No government at all. And I don't care if it is right or left, it is just commonly accepted that total government control is on the left. But what is not taught that the other end of the spectrum has to be the exact opposite and the exact opposite of total government control over the people is no government at all.

The political scale taught in our schools leave no room for freedom in the middle. That why that scale is a joke. It's absurd.

The American right has never ever supported fascism or Nazism, not even a little bit. The left did because a century ago they thought all of those variations of socialism were great.
