so people couldn't mod them

Nintendo made people sign a virtual waiver basically saying if you are caught modding or looks like you're modding their console they will make it to where you can never play the console again.

I can understand like, disabling your online or something, but even this is too far for Nintendo

Because let's just say for example you're a 9-year old or something and your parents give you a Switch for a special occasion like idk a birthday or for Christmas and you turn on your Switch for the first time and want to play a game and you want to experiment with your new console such as running Homebrew applications or using a game hack like SurfShark or something to make a game more enjoyable like in Pokemon but Nintendo says "no, you cannot do that" so they lock your console forever.

It's illegal for a company to do that.

Yeah that sounds unreasonable, especially since you said "if it looks like you're modding their console", so basically they can just go "Yeah we think you're modding our consoles you can't use it"

I've completely lost all respect for Nintendo because of their stupid rule.
