rant ho. and i will caveat, not all women and not all men. broad generalizations of culture ahead:
For the last decade, American media (print, tv, online, movie, both fiction and nonfiction (lol)) have been subliminally driving a narrative that men in general are old thinking, errant thinking, backwards thinking, and fools. Everything wrong in the world is due to men. The future is female. Girl boss don't need no man. men hold women back. masculinity is toxic.
as a result we now have a crop of women in media who kneejerk react to anything men do as wrong, and anything men like as evil.
men, meanwhile, have grown weary of being the bad guy by virtue of existing. men as a whole tried to aopease, make concessions, but it was never enough. so they disconnected from the game and went back to the things that brought them joy. which includes things like physical health and outdoor activities.
also simultaneously the media influencing women are staunchly progressive politically. not just Democrat, but Squad supporting fringe level. and the logic of "everything men like is bad" and "everything bad is DrUmPftftf" leads them to insanity like "this protein and health craze is MAGA!"
