The people who say this about Islam will sooner or later say the same about Judaism, or Hinduism or Catholicism. I'm sorry for you.

I doubt it. None of those religions use murder and terrorism to further their cause

Have you not heard of the Crusades? The book of Joshua? All established religions have done some pretty terrible things, but are also capable of inspiring people to great things.

How long since a Christian crusade? Yesterday was a Muslim attack

30 Year's war saw 20% of Europe's population die and was a conflict between Catholics and Protestants. If you want a more recent example, Northern Ireland was the site of a religious terrorist campaign by both Protestants and Catholics, killing 3,600 from 1950 to 2000. The conflict was resolved in 1998, and involved British soldiers, Irish paramilitaries bombing both the British mainland (I live only 20 minutes away from a place that got bombed) and Northern Ireland itself, billions of pounds, an attempted assassination attempt on a British Prime Minister and tensions in the region that last to this day. The most recent attack from the region was a mortar attack on police in 2022, and there was an attempt to bomb Joe Biden on a visit to Belfast in 2023. That's just Northern Ireland. If you want to engage in blind historical revisionism, at least know your facts.

30 years war was hundreds of years ago, 3600 killed in northern Ireland over 50 years vs. 1300 killed on 9/11, 1200 killed by hamas on 10/23, the hundreds killed by boko haram in Africa every year, innocents stabbed daily all over Europe. Islam isn't practiced as a religion of peace

Northern Ireland's population is 2 million. The population of New York alone far exceeds that, let alone all of Europe and West Africa. If you do the maths, Islamist attacks have killed 0.067% of Europe's population over the last 20 years. The Troubles killed 0.18% of Northern Ireland's population over 50. Now this is extremely crude maths (I've done a lot of rounding and haven't accounted for population growth), but if you multiply them out to the same timescale, you get roughly the same number.

The real reason you see more Islamic terrorism the Christian terrorism is because Islamic countries tend to be poorer, and people with nothing to lose are more likely to become terrorists. The same goes for Northern Ireland. So next time you tell me Islam isn't a religion of peace, please explain to me why my local high street hasn't been blown up yet (even though there are plenty of Muslims who live there).

For a while there I thought you might be an actual immigrant Muslim (or future conqueror as it will be) but I've decided you're a well-meaning but hopelessly woke future victim of Islamic conquest. As such there is really nothing I can do to further explain your plight. Thanks for expressing your views, while you still can.

Our "plight" is not what you think it is, and your comments are tremendously insulting to my Muslim coworkers and neighbors.

Be nice to them, they may give you dhimmi status.

As opposed to "be decent to them, they're human too"? Your fear and hatred are really messing with your values.

The crusades were started to take back land from the muslims who subjugated it. You literally just made his point for him.

The crusades were a brutal invasion garbed in fancy religious talk. What they did when they sacked Constantinople shows exactly how much "Christian charity" they really had. Also, the lands that the Crusaders wanted to conquer had never belonged to them: they were just more invaders.

so..you’re saying the crusades where not actually waged for actual religious reasons…interesting…..

I thought you said the crusades were because of religion….hmmmm….

The Christians owned the land before the Muslims did, and the Romans owned it before the Christians did, and greeks before them and the Persians before them, and the babylonians before them, and the assyrians before them, and the Egyptians before them, and the Hebrews before them and the canaanites before them and the various different bronze age nomadic tribes and clans that lived there before…..so…who does the land belong to?

When you say, "the Christians" here, you mean Eastern Orthodox Christians, whom the Roman Catholic crusaders considered to be heretics. As to the crusades being about religion, yes, religion was the pretext and the rallying cry, but greed for conquest was a great motivator, and their actual effects didn't involve a lot of saved souls, just killing and looting like other wars.

I dont believe the crusades ever intended to convert muslims, but to kick them out of the Holy Land…The point was to retake the Holy Land…Also, Orthodox and Romans did fight, but Christians still owned the Holy Land before.
