Call out the trail of tears, and all the slaves that walked along the trail with their native American slave owners.... What they failed to teach in school. To taboo and somewhat hidden or hushed history .. and the whole slave trade of native Americans... To go to Europe... Or to be forced into assimilation.... But if you were black and tried to assimilate with a white, you were hung in a tree. Thank the Lord we don't live like that today. The only individuals that remain enslaved, are those who remain stuck on the reservation, enslaved by the government. Although they have their sovereignty, they still have a hard time leaving the comforts of the reservation. And I guess it's different across the board when it comes to well off caring tribal governments, vs the less funded tribal governments. Crime, drugs and alcohol all play a factor. Once a generation of people are put down, the following generations stay down.
