It’s more the idea that everyone is entitled to food without having to work for it, so should farmers have to work for food, and if not how will the communists give it.

What communist don’t tell you is that they still have economic class stratification in society. The party leaders are at the very top.
“To each according to his need”
Who decides how much someone’s need is? If someone disagrees with the leadership, does his “need” get cut back to a starvation level? Meanwhile, does the person who decides what needs are get to decide he needs the lion’s share?
So who decides what someone’s ability is? Or how much is necessary to meet their need? There’s always someone to direct, whether it’s a chairman, a chancellor, a president or a king.
