One notices that NO wealthy leftist ever flees south to Mexico or to central or south American nations . . . unless maybe Belize.

Actually quite a lot have noticed because quite a lot do.
Jesse Ventura did, and Baja is quite the popular retirement destination for many, much to the chagrin of locals who are becoming increasingly displaced by the more affluent moving in.

In fact, haven't heard much about anybody from the US moving to Canada instead. Something about year-round summer as opposed to 9 months of winter being somewhat more preferable. Something like that.

Jesse is a legit centrist. Like he actuality believes what he says. Some issues he leans left others he leans right. He's not like a lot on the left that are fanatics or just plain corrupt.

In all seriousness I have reservations about the idea of Canada becoming a 52nd State. I'm pretty sure most of you want to retain your national identity and heritage as it exists now. If it couldn't be done without a great majority of Canadians wanting it it would probably not be in the best interests of either country. However, I'm surprised the True Blues and the TDS people aren't more on board with the idea of having a giant extra Progressive socialist voting block added to the A-Holes and Champagne Liberals in our great Northeast States and Mexi-Fornia on the West Coast. Short sighted on their part. But Ivey League college degrees don't necessarily make 'educated people' wiser or smarter.

In all seriousness, I'm all for becoming American...but Trump and his ridiculous rhetoric nonsense along with tariffs creating more divisive controversy is not helping matters at all.

Trump pricked a huge boil in the political landscape. These issues have been festering for decades and its been growing steam with the average taxpayer footing the bill for luxury ideologies.
