Its bad because that's not the governments job. It's unconstitutional for the federal government to do it. Read the 9th and 10th amendments and then find where in the constitution it allows for it. Now individual state governments can legally do it, but not the federal government.

Read the above description of 9th and 10th amendments. If it's not specifically granted to the federal government they can't do it. No where in the constitution did it say they can give money to charities or groups.
