This is why instead they wipe their rumps with the harsh lessons of history and then invent their own interpretations where up is down and in is out.

Helps if you know history. NATO made a treaty with Russia to not expand toward them, NATO broke this treaty 3 times. Then Ukraine harassed the Russian border and tried to join NATO violating their treaty with Russia.
In Russia's eyes we are a bunch of treacherous deal breakers and have no integrity. God luck convincing them we want peace.
