A pilot told me that a second crew chief would have been the set of eyes needed in the chopper to ideally prevent in air collisions, and the plane was supposed to do a slight bank or leveling in the approach that would have been for the co-pilot to look for traffic. Conjecture Alert- the best publicly available video, which isn't saying much, indicates the plane did not do this brief maneuver. A deadly "perfect storm," dammit.
