If they self-deport, they avoid getting the criminal record with fingerprints and DNA, so they can try again legally. If we have to deport them, they'll be permanently branded and forever ineligible to re-enter the US.
Many illegal Aliens are deporting themselves in fear of being deported by the Trump administration. Trump hasn't taken office yet and is doing a better job than Democrats ever did in the past 4 years.
