Well I guess it's a little combination of both. Unless you are super rich, or have no debt one is not truly free. I think people serving a lifetime prison sentence experience more freedom than their outside counterparts. No bills to pay, or money to make, family on the outside putting money on the books if they are lucky... I mean it's not freedom, but in a way it's monitary freedom from society to a point. I guess freedom is different for everyone. How someone feels free could be different.
