Still to a certain extent, if they collectively pretend that something is not a legitimate issue then in the eyes of most citizens, it's not an issue. Yes, that is changing; but it is not changing fast enough in this particular regard.

If it is ever acknowledged I would be surprised.

They cannot allow the public to lose faith in the system.

Though by virtue of the Bernie/Hillary fiasco in 2016 and the Kamala installation in 2024, we learned that the will of the people can be circumvented.

I believe the supreme court even ruled on the issue that the party primary is pomp and circumstance and the party's executives may put forth the candidate of their choosing.
